From Black Eagle - one of the leading martial arts supplier in the UK, Black Eagle have a history of supporting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in this country. Quality products from quality people, here is what we are stocking from them.
From K2 Fightwear - a relatively new manufacturers in the UK, these guys are raising the bar in terms of both style and quality with their Gis that have some what of a cult following in America. Check out what Meerkatsu had to say about their Gis.

Ricardo De La Riva is a 6th Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under the late Carlson Gracie. He was the creator of the famous Jiu Jitsu guard called De La Riva, and he also awarded Rodrigo and Rogerio Nogueira their Black belts as well as many others,

Message From Arlans Re Last Nights BJJ Training
Morning guys,
Arlans wanted me to pass on his thanks for the training session last night, he was super impressed with everyones attitude and the BJJ progress.
As he visits Hoddesdon every 4 to 6 weeks he is able to see the improvement.
He is really proud of you all representing him and his style of Jiu Jitsu.
Well done guys - this progress only happens because everyone works hard and supports each other.

Offical IBJJ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Rules For Competition
Guys,
With the upcoming competitions I thought I would send round the official International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJ) Rules
PLEASE NOTE: In BJJ the referees decision is final and I have never seen a reversal of a decision due to a fighter arguing with the ref. I do not want anyone representing BJJ Hertfordshire to act like a sh*t head in competition - we fight hard BUT deal with adversity and disappointment with integrity and class. This is the difference between a martial artist and a thug. We also have a kids class that looks up to the adult class to set an example to them.
So use this information to educate yourself, the bottom line is if the guy taps within the time limit then everything else is irrelevant - YOU WIN.

BJJ Stripes & New Nick Names at BJJ Hertfordshire
After working really hard some of the BJJ students at Hoddesdon earned stripes last night, plus along with that received new nick names from me in the write, Alex P even achieved a second nick name due to his leather trouser wearing exploits last weekend.....
Please note, we also need to thank Stuart aka Mr Anderson for supporting the develop of the boys, thanks for all your help with teaching Stu!
Thank you also to big Tom Bandura for coming down to train from Edmonton - it was a pleasure having you in the class.

Spider Guard & BJJ Circus Skills Tonight
Hi guys,
Based on last nights training at Edmonton we will drilling BJJ 'Circus' Skills tonight and also starting to do some spider guard techniques, sweeps and the corresponding escapes.
Any Edmonton BJJ Students that want to come down a drill you are more than welcome.
7:45pm start just after the kids class - if you get the chance to get there and watch the kids sparring you will be blown away - these kids are awesome!

Documentary From Tatami Fightwear: Terere: Return of a Champion

As many of you know the legend that is Terere is back in Jiu Jitsu and will be returning to competition in 2011.
The guys from Tatami have shot an amazing insight into the great mans preparation.
Here in the documentary, I hope there is more to come:
It is going to awesome seeing Terere back fighting again - can you imagine Terere vs Roger Gracie again.......
